Erin Hicks

Erin Hicks is a dance performance artist, choreographer, and teacher in the New York City and New Jersey areas. She grew up in Maplewood, NJ where she studied all styles of dance. In 2013, Erin received the distinguished Janet Hicks Dance Scholarship through her high school Dance Company program. She went on to attend Temple University and earn her Bachelor's degree in Dance Performance. During her time at Temple, Erin performed in works by resident and guest artists, including Brian Sanders, Jillian Harris and Ishmael Houston Jones. She also premiered several of her own choreographed works, culminating in her full length thesis piece, "Rigor Samsa". Erin has trained with renowned teachers/choreographers, including Kun Yang Lin, Dara Meredith, and Kariamu Welsh. Since graduating, Erin has been dancing with Philadelphia-based dance company, Reveal Movement Project, and has performed with NYC-based company, JChen Project. Erin has been teaching dance to various age groups for the past five years in a variety of studio settings. She is looking forward to continuing to grow as a teacher and an artist, and fostering the growth of her students in a fun, supportive and creative environment.
